True instances of early-mid 20th century couples going anal only (or at least frequently engaging in anal)?

Does anyone here know (whether by reading it from somewhere, finding out from friends or family members, etc) of true instances of any heterosexual couples in the early or mid 20th century (roughly 1900s-1960s) who practiced the anal only lifestyle, or at least frequently practiced anal sex (perhaps for birth control purposes)?

Before birth control came in during the70’s anal was used as birth control. Spoke to a few dirty old ladies (between 60-75) over the years online who seem to offer it as an option to not use a condom

Surely it must have been part of life before modern birth control. How did people keep small families and stay together as a couple forever and have only a couple of kids?
