Wow! I had a similar experience, but they were a friends moms when i was around 10-12ish, I cant remember exactly, but we found them with other toys and once i knew what they were i was hooked on anal.

I am completely in love with my buttplugs.
When I am on weekend and I know I have nothing to do : once I closed the door I insert a plug inside my butt and I remove it only on Monday morning …

My wife doesn’t wear them long term, but loves plug play. I bought her a heavy stainless plug that’s 1.75” in diameter. I love watching her sphincter expand as I slowly pull it from her ass. It makes her squirt. I guess you could say we love plugs and plug play.
