Actually I had intended for a long time to start a discussion on this very topic. Not because I suffer from this problem myself, as I have already said. No, the reason being that I have lost track of the countless times I've read about peoples experiences with anal sex on the internet over the years, and one thing that comes up time and again is a comment such as:

What are these people doing? Have they actually had anal or are they just repeating a rumour they've heard?

There are bound to be people out there who are more susceptible to "accidents" than others. Diet probably has a lot to do with it. But also just different biologies.

Also, "mess" might be referring to lube getting everywhere, not just feces.

If that's happening regularly, the person being penetrated needs to add more fiber to their diet and drink more water regularly, as well as go to the bathroom 15 to 30 minutes before having sex.

This was unfortunately often a problem with my (now ex-) wife; over time it became a real turn-off for me, especially when I was fingering her. Less of an annoyance or issue when I was fucking her, for whatever that is worth. I imagine that diet and general attentiveness to her appearance, inside and out, aggravated the circumstance. If your partner is game, make it part of foreplay. It can be a little D/S if you want, or not.

I recommend that anyone wanting frequent anal sex have a decent enema kit. I keep a bulb (syringe) enema and a bag with a good sized nozzle for the job.
