The Reddit thread is very good reading -- an antidote to the forum thread marcus posted. Pretty much every guy's reaction is, "if your girlfriend prefers anal sex, that's awesome!" From these threads it's pretty clear that many (most?) guys would prefer to have mostly or exclusively anal sex. It's fantastic to see couples not being shy about it.

I've only had a chance to read the reddit thread so far. I was pleasantly surprised at how supportive and understanding both sexes were about the normality of anal sex. What a contrast to some of the other debates I've read elsewhere! Could it be that reddit is more of a younger based media, and younger people are far more easy going than I expected? Often they've given the impression of being suspicious of anything outside the norm, while older more experienced couples aren't afraid to experiment.

It's good to see yet more women affirming that anal sex is better than vaginal. Even those not having AO confirm that it gives them more pleasure and much stronger orgasms.

What was most striking is the majority (whether they preferred anal or vaginal) quite clearly believed that the girlfriend liking anal sex more was normal. And yes, most the guys were envious! The OP seemed completely unaware of how fortunate he was.

/r/sex is a pretty sex positive community in general, supportive of anyone's personal sexual preferences and very, very opposed to slut/kink shaming. Lots of good people there, many of whom adore anal sex.
