Long-term plug wear and going to the bathroom

Good evening my AO lovelies!

I want to be able to wear a plug just about all the time. With the exception of work and certain social situations, like visiting family or something.

Anyway, long-term plug wear is still quite new to me, and I have some questions regarding going to the bathroom. Kind of awkward, but whatever Everybody Poops, right?

I noticed that when I'm wearing a plug for long-term I never have the urge to defecate. I usually won't have to use the bathroom after a long period of wearing my plug. It will typically take my body 12 or 24 hours to go back to moving normally. When I'm not wearing my plug long-term I have no issues.

I must clarify that long term for me is from when I get home until I wake up the next morning, or if it's the weekend the goal is to have it in the entire time. I'm not there yet. I've gone so far up to 24 hours..

When I read about people doing 24/7 or long-term wear they talk about how they don't take the plug out with the exception of going to the bathroom. How do you know when you need to go? Since I've never had the urge while the plug was in I don't know if it's okay to keep it in if I haven't had the urge for a day or more.

I also noticed that after I've worn a plug for a long time when I take it out I'll often have gas. Again I don't know if this is normal or if it's just my body adjusting.

So, for all of you plug enthusiasts, I ask you for guidance! I really want to be wearing my plug all the time but I am afraid of having a messy accident or causing ridiculous constipation.

Thank you!

In the past with women I’ve dated, there was one girl who slept with a plug religiously but I don’t think she wore it 24/7 only at night for the fullness feeing. Not sure how she managed with “everything else” but she seemed to have no health problems! Definitely someone else’s input is needed here! Till then keep plugging away ;)

You'll find that experiences reported here vary widely because they depend on diet, metabolism, exercise, and other variables. Also, as you get used to the plug your body will get back to its normal routines.

You'll need to experiment to find what works for you - after all that's part of the fun!

I've worn plugs for long periods including several days continuously and here's what works for me

- choose a glass or metal plug for ease of cleaning. Njoys are very hard to beat.

- find a size and shape that allows gas to exit. If you don't vent, the build-up of gas can make you lethargic and uncomfortable.

- your digestive system doesn't behave consistently! Eating unfamiliar foods can make you vent more than just gas ...

I have known two people personally that do 24/7 wear. And when you need to poop, you will know it. It will feel just like the urge you get when you arent wearing a plug, except that you are wearing a plug. You will feel poop trying to push the plug out, and you will feel extra full.

As far as gas goes, that will normally just slip on by, just like a normal pass, and can even produce the same sound lol. I would suggest not standing and trying to pass gas, as your push will probably push the plug out with the gas. Just sit and give it a little lean and it should come out like normal.

Also, props for trying to go long term with it!

Thanks for all the advice! I am still working myself up to longer and longer periods of time with the plug in. I have experienced that "it's time to go..." Weird feeling... Anyway, I am still intermittent with the long term wear. Sometimes my body enjoys it for longer periods of time than others.

This is why it's called training ;)

Hi hun , I wear my plug 95% of the time . Bar certain days at the gym , during sex ( obviously ) and pooping . Trust me , u will know when u need to go , it’s all about your diet , give your plug a clean while it’s out , when I first started plugging I felt constipated but you get used to it after a while . Feel free to pm me if you want to talk about it :)

Hello, OP.

A bit late here, bit as others have said; you will know when it is time to 'go'.

Eventually you will get use to long term wear and there is no harm if it take a little bit to acclimate. The body will let you know when it's time to evacuate.

A lot depends on diet and how active you are in the day. I am personally a very sparse meat eater and mostly follow a vegan-ish diet for many reasons. So that alters my bathroom break frequency from that I would have if I followed a different diet and was less active (I do yoga, spin & running).

I wear a plug almost 24/7. Only remove it to shower, poop and sex. Usually I have the urge to poop around the morning time when I am about to shower and in the early evening (when I am about to shower again). This has been the routine for both wearing my plug and defecating for 10+ years now.

I switch up the plugs I wear (different styles and sizes) but I have one inserted at almost all times. It's fine. You get used to it and adjust.

Thank you! I've been off the forum for a while since my boyfriend moved in. We were long distance before we started living together back in February.

I hadn't been plugging much due to the adjustment period. But now that things are back to a normal rhythm I will be getting back to my long term wear and I am so greatful to hear what to expect. And good to know about the constipation. I've been having lots of sex and I notice that my colon is still confused but the constipation is getting a little better.

Thanks for the invitation to pm. I'm glad to have someone to talk to that has lots of experience with a lifestyle that is so right but still so new to me.

I'm a massage therapist so I'd say I stay pretty active. Due to the nature of my work I don't feel comfortable wearing a plug to work. However I also know that when I was wearing my plugs for long periods I would look forward to getting home and putting it back it.

Did you have situations that you were once uncomfortable or embarrassed to wear your plug when it was still new for you? Like my kind of work or family functions etc. I would love to hear your perspective of these sort of situations.

Hmm. When I was pregnant with my first, I was very nervous to wear it when I had a doctor's appointment. So I would take it out in the bathroom before going in for the appointment.

One time I forgot to remove it, I was running late actually and didn't have time. It wasn't until they asked me to lay on my side that the cold panic of a jeweled butt plug peaking between my ass cheeks as I was 7 months pregnant came over me.

It peaked through. I was frozen. The doc said nothing.

I walked out in a cold sweat. Afterward I stopped wearing a plug for a while until after my son was born. But I went back to wearing one normally around the time my son was 6 or so months old.

When I had my second child I didn't even bother to remove it. I would just wear all the time. I couldn't give a shit less what the doctor thought. I had bigger fish to fry, frankly.

Generally speaking, I am not the overly self conscious type. I have always been fairly comfortable in my own skin and content to be my own person regardless of what others think. Wearing my plug in 'awkward' situations never really occurs to me because wearing a plug is just like slipping on a pair of underwear or doing my make-up. It's just second nature.
