So how could this happen?

One year ago, for me and my wife, it was far away from our imagination to go anal only. Sure we always had anal sex now and then, but rather reserved for special moments. We enjoyed it very much every time. And my wife got huge orgasms. But however, vaginal remained our primary form of sex.

My first contact with anal only was, when i stumbled across these tumblr-sites and thought, ok just another porn trash. Then i discovered this forum and i realized, that anal only is a fact and you guys here are serious and doing it for some plausible reasons. I became curios. My wife was skeptical at first.

But then another issue came up: birth control. After the birth of our two kids, my wife got an intrauterine device with progestogen. It works fine, but it is limited to ten years. Now there is one year left, and we began to think about the time after.
Condoms? Never!
The pill? No way, my wife wants to quit hormones.

When Anal Only August was announced, we discussed it again. And now we decided to give it a try. We took the chance, that the kids where on holidays with grandparents for two weeks. It was the first time in ten years, that we were alone for more than one night! So we had plenty of time to prepare.
We started slowly. Three times in the first week. Then daily. Concerns about soreness or other issues disappeared. It was a quick adjustment. Two times a day? No problem, just great pleasure! Actually this Anal Only August should only be a test run, but at this point we have absolutely no need to complete this test. We are highly satisfied. It's a another level of happiness for us!

But how did an anal only month work?
I think it affects a replacement of our mindset. Formerly you think not having vaginal sex is not normal, and having anal sex is kinky and not normal. Afterwards you realize, that you are free, and the lack of vaginal sex doesn't matter.

If you are a curious couple and like anal sex, try it! You will be surprised.

To me it's really a MAJOR factor in favour of anal only. I wish more people realized anal is the best way to have no procreative sex without intoxicating women (and the environment) with chemicals.

Along with the "no vaginal sex isn't normal" barrier, your post really sums up the most important factors about anal IMO.

You hit the nail on the head. An anal only month works because it allows the participants time to adjust to anal sex, both physically and mentally. The recipient's body has the opportunity to learn the "muscle memory" necessary to comfortably accommodate their partner's penis, not only more readily, but with frequency. After all, what good is the anal only lifestyle if you can't have anal sex at least as often as you did vaginal? Mentally it allows both partners to realize, just as you pointed out, that anal sex is just as natural as vaginal sex. In time, most couples who practice frequent anal sex come to realize that it is superior to vaginal sex for the purpose of pleasurable intercourse. Of course, the fact anal sex provides safe, effective birth control makes it preferable to vaginal sex for the purpose of non-procreative sex.

My wife and I have been having frequent anal sex for more than 26 years, the last 11 years anal only. I hope you and your wife experience the pleasure anal sex has provided us.
