Looks like it's time to change the signup requirements yet again to deter the spambots. We'll see if this helps, and if I need to go back to the original process of manually approving new members I'll do so.

I've deleted all 8,000 or so spam posts the bots made over not very many hours and blocked those accounts.

And note that there may still be some active spam accounts here that just haven't gone online and started to be used yet. I've preemptively deleted all those which were obviously spambots, but to avoid deleting legitimate users I've left some for now and will ban/delete them as needed. If you notice any spam, please flag it as such and one of us will take care of it as soon as we can.
